A leading transport organisation is seeking a Supplier Relationship Manager to play a central role in shaping and delivering contract management and procurement excellence across the business. This position involves supplier governance, purchasing operations, and performance management. Reporting to the Head of Procurement, you will be responsible for implementing procurement frameworks, improving purchasing processes, and using data-driven insights to support strategic decision-making. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially astute professional to drive meaningful change within a large, complex organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, develop, and mentor the Contracts and Purchasing team, driving high performance and engagement.
- Develop and embed a robust contract management framework across the organisation.
- Act as the subject matter expert for contract and supplier relationship management.
- Oversee purchasing operations and ensure an efficient, compliant purchase-to-pay process.
- Define and manage procurement and purchasing KPIs, using data to drive performance improvements and reduce risk.
- Analyse procurement data and translate insights into actionable business strategies.
- Strengthen governance, controls, and compliance across the supply chain.
- Support and influence budget holders, with delegated financial authority up to £250k.
- Provide training and guidance on contract management best practice, including Procurement Act 2023 requirements.
- Collaborate with senior stakeholders, project teams, and external partners to drive consistency and engagement.

- Proven experience in a contract management, procurement, or purchasing leadership role.
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at senior and executive levels.
- Demonstrable success in improving supplier performance and delivering measurable value.
- Experience driving change and embedding new procurement or contract management frameworks.
- Good understanding of procurement legislation, including the Procurement Act 2023.
