Material Planner in Bedworth

As a Material Controller, your duties will include:

Responsibilities

• Ensure the goods in, stores and despatch area within the factory is run efficiently to provide a reliable service that supports the manufacturing process.
• Operate mechanical handling equipment, including a counterbalance forklift truck and an automatic Billet Saw, to provide materials for machining.
• Communicate with internal and external customers and suppliers to arrange deliveries to Despatch, liaise with the Planning Manager for goods out, and ensure that all products are packed appropriately to prevent damage in transit, maintaining and improving the company\’s image.
• Provide material availability information to support new sales orders to the Planning Manager.
• Undertake the purchasing of non‑production materials, including stationery, based on demand for all departments and act as the interface with non‑production material suppliers.
• Maintain a good working relationship with colleagues to promote successful teamwork.

Qualifications

• 3‑4 years of experience in material handling and coordination within a manufacturing company.
• Previous store experience, preferably including quality control.
• Experience with goods‑in processing, including booking of goods, and some experience in purchasing direct and indirect materials.
• Proficient with measuring equipment such as verniers and micrometres; PC literate with basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel and Word).
