Considering applying for this job? Do not delay, scroll down and make your application as soon as possible to avoid missing out. Lunar House is a new 3-bed children's home in Crewe, and we're looking for the right person to shape it from the ground up. This is a rare opportunity, not to walk into someone else's culture, but to build your own. You'll recruit your team, embed your values, and establish the standards that will define this home for years to come. Backed by the support of Elevated Living Group, you'll have the autonomy to lead whilst never feeling like you're doing it alone.

The children we support have emotional and behavioural needs and learning disabilities. They need consistency, stability, and a leader who understands what genuine, high-quality care looks like in practice and not just on paper.

Why This Role Stands Out

  • Small home, big impact. Three beds means you know every child, every story, every breakthrough. This is hands-on leadership, not administration from a distance.
  • Shape it from day one. As a brand new home, you'll have genuine influence over culture, team, and practice — something rarely available in established settings.
  • A growing organisation behind you. Elevated Living Group Limited is expanding, which means real pathways for senior and area management as we grow. Your success here opens doors.
  • Genuine support structure. You won't be left to figure it out alone. We provide operational, compliance, and leadership support so you can focus on what matters — the children.

What You'll Be Responsible For

  • Getting the home registered with OFSTED and maintaining compliance with the Children's Homes Regulations 2015 and the Quality Standards
  • Recruiting, supervising, and developing a high-performing staff team
  • Creating and maintaining a culture of safeguarding, stability, and child-centred practice
  • Overseeing care planning, risk management, and placement stability for each young person
  • Building strong relationships with placing authorities, families, and multi-agency partners
  • Leading by example - visible, values-driven, and present on the floor when it matters
  • Driving continuous improvement and preparing for and responding to Ofsted inspections

What We're Looking For

  • Essential: Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or working towards it)
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a senior role within children's residential care (Registered Manager or Deputy Manager)
  • Sound working knowledge of the Children's Homes Regulations 2015 and Ofsted inspection frameworks
  • A proven track record in safeguarding, care planning, and staff development
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to lead, inspire, and hold a team to account
  • Full UK driving licence

This role may be right for you if you are:

  • An experienced Registered Manager looking for a smaller, well-supported home where you can lead with real autonomy
  • A Registered Manager ready to join a growing organisation with genuine future opportunities at senior level
  • A strong, experienced Deputy Manager ready to make the step up into your first RM post — we'll support that transition properly

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary - £50,000 - £65,000 + performance based bonus
  • The opportunity to open and lead a brand new home
  • Full operational and compliance support from the wider Elevated Living Group team
  • Real scope for progression as the organisation grows
  • Healthcare benefits scheme
  • Company pension
  • On-site parking
  • and more...
