Role Description

This is a full-time, site-based role as a Registered Residential Manager in Sefton. The post involves overseeing a multi-build children’s home registration consisting of three homes supporting up to six children. You will be responsible for the day-to-day leadership, management and operation of the service, ensuring full compliance with the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards while delivering high-quality, therapeutic care.

Responsibilities include:

  • Leading and developing staff teams
  • Maintaining a safe and nurturing environment
  • Overseeing care planning and safeguarding practice
  • Ensuring consistent routines and boundaries for children

As the Registered Manager you will liaise with placing authorities, professionals and families, advocate for children, and ensure a stable and supportive environment that promotes positive outcomes.

Minimum requirements:

  • 2 years’ experience as a Deputy Manager within an Ofsted registered children’s home
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (England) or working towards
  • Strong knowledge of the Children’s Homes Regulations and Ofsted inspection framework
  • Experience supporting children with complex needs and trauma backgrounds
  • Ability to lead and develop staff teams and manage performance
  • Full UK driving licence

  • Strong safeguarding knowledge and decision-making ability
  • Experience of care planning, risk management and behaviour support
  • Good organisational and record-keeping skills
  • Effective communication with professionals and external agencies
