This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and commercially aware contracts professional to support the day-to-day operations of a busy legal team. Working closely with legal, sales, procurement and business stakeholders, you will play a key role in administering commercial contracts, ensuring documentation is complete, triaging requests and preparing matters for review by external legal counsel. This role is focused on contract administration and legal operations rather than contract negotiation or legal advisory work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Triage incoming contract requests and manage the legal team's shared inbox, ensuring matters are prioritised and progressed efficiently.
  • Review contract requests against established playbooks to identify where legal escalation is required.
  • Ensure all required documentation is complete before contracts are progressed for legal review, following up with internal and external stakeholders as needed.
  • Liaise with sales teams to obtain outstanding paperwork and ensure requests are submitted with the appropriate supporting information.
  • Push back on incomplete requests where necessary and guide stakeholders through internal contract submission requirements.
  • Prepare and update standard contract documentation and undertake basic drafting using approved templates.
  • Coordinate with external parties to obtain supporting documentation, such as certificates and other contractual records.
  • Maintain accurate contract records and documentation within contract management systems.
  • Support the legal operations process by preparing matters for escalation to external legal resources.
  • Assist with reporting, document management and continuous improvement of contract administration processes.

Experience Required

  • Experience in a contract administration, legal operations, commercial support or contract management environment.
  • Good understanding of commercial contracts and the ability to work within established contract playbooks and approval processes.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple requests and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to identify missing information or documentation.
  • Confident communicator with the ability to work effectively with sales, legal and other internal stakeholders, including challenging incomplete submissions where appropriate.
  • Experience carrying out basic contract drafting and document updates using standard templates.
  • Experience using contract lifecycle management (CLM) systems, document management systems or contract repositories would be advantageous.
  • A proactive, process-driven approach with a strong customer service mindset.
  • Please note: This role is focused on contract administration and legal operations and is not designed as a legal training contract or a route to legal qualification.
