Our customer, a leading telecom company, is seeking a versatile and experienced Commercial Lawyer to join their legal team for a contract role. This is an exciting opportunity to work on some of the most critical supplier and project contracts across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft, negotiate, and manage a wide variety of commercial agreements, focusing on technology, IT, telecoms, and related industries.
- Advise internal stakeholders on the entire agreement lifecycle, providing strategic insight on negotiation tactics and overall contracting strategy.
- Support in the negotiation of strategic, high-value sourcing agreements, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and compliance with legal requirements.
- Provide expert legal guidance on semiconductor development and supply agreements, software/SaaS agreements, and other tech/IT contracting matters.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and integrate those considerations into contractual terms and strategies.
- Advise on risk management and mitigation strategies in the context of technology and telecom projects and supplier agreements.
- Stay updated on industry trends and legal developments, particularly within the technology and telecom sectors, to ensure the company’s agreements are up to date and compliant.
Qualifications:
- Qualified lawyer with 7+ years of experience in commercial contracting, with a focus on the technology, IT, or telecom sectors.
- Strong experience drafting and negotiating complex contracts, with a particular emphasis on tech/IT/telecom agreements.
- Experience in both in-house and law firm environments preferred.
- A well-rounded lawyer who is comfortable providing strategic advice beyond legal considerations, including negotiation tactics and overall contract strategy.
- Experience with one or more of the following is highly preferred:
- Strategic, high-value sourcing agreements
- Semiconductor development and supply agreements
- Software/SaaS agreements or general IT/tech contracting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively across teams and advise senior leadership.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
