This is a varied, hands-on position supporting the Head of Legal, with a primary focus on property-related disputes. You’ll take ownership of tribunal and court matters, while also playing a key role in helping the business adapt to upcoming changes in property management law.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of residential property disputes, including First Tier Tribunal and County Court (small claims/fast track) matters
- Draft and submit applications, responses, and supporting documentation
- Represent the business and its clients at hearings where appropriate
- Instruct and oversee external solicitors or counsel when required
- Work collaboratively with internal teams to resolve and de-escalate issues early
- Support the development of internal know-how, including use of AI tools to streamline case management
- Contribute to legal updates, guidance notes, and training materials for the wider business
Candidate Profile
- Provide guidance to junior team members on lower-value claims
- Advise colleagues on interpretation of leases and property-related documents
- Solid experience handling residential property litigation, particularly tribunal work
- Confident communicator with strong drafting skills
- Comfortable working with systems and open to leveraging technology in legal processes
- Qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive
- Membership of TPI and/or RICS
- Experience producing practical legal guidance and mentoring others
