We are working with a leading multinational organisation in the technology sector seeking an experienced Employment Lawyer to join its legal team on a 6-month contract basis. This is an excellent opportunity to support a fast-paced, international business on a broad range of employment law matters across Europe.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide practical, commercially focused employment law advice to HR and business stakeholders across multiple European jurisdictions.
- Support the management of complex employee relations matters, including disciplinary issues, grievances, performance management, restructures, redundancies, and terminations.
- Advise on employment law risks associated with organisational change initiatives and business transformation projects.
- Partner with HR and leadership teams on workplace policies, investigations, employee disputes, and compliance matters.
- Work closely with external counsel across various European countries where specialist local law advice is required.
- Advise on information and consultation obligations, including engagement with employee representative bodies and works councils.
- Support employment aspects of business transactions, integrations, and cross-border projects.
- Assist with the development and implementation of employment policies, procedures, and best practices across the region.
Required Experience
- Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or equivalent legal qualification.
- Significant employment law experience gained in-house and/or within a leading law firm.
- Strong experience advising on employment law matters across multiple European jurisdictions.
- Demonstrable experience working with works councils and advising on employee consultation requirements within European markets.
- Experience supporting multinational organisations in a fast-paced commercial environment.
- Ability to provide pragmatic, risk-based legal advice to senior stakeholders.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
Preferred Experience
- Experience within the technology, software, digital, or broader multinational corporate sector.
- Previous experience supporting cross-border employment projects and organisational change initiatives.
- Familiarity with employment law issues arising in matrixed, international organisations.
