We are seeking a qualified lawyer to support an established legal team with additional work in its Intellectual Property (IP) practice for a 3 month contract role. The role will focus primarily on contentious patent matters, with experience in life sciences, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology or medical technology particularly desirable.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise on and manage contentious patent matters, with a particular focus on patent litigation.
- Support the legal team on complex intellectual property disputes and related contentious work.
- Assist with patent-related matters across sectors such as life sciences, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology and medtech.
- Where relevant, draw on experience in patent prosecution or patent applications to support the wider IP workload.
Candidate Requirements
- Qualified solicitor with demonstrable experience in patent litigation.
- Strong background in contentious intellectual property matters, particularly patent disputes.
- Experience in life sciences, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology or medtech is highly desirable.
- Additional experience in patent prosecution or patent applications would be beneficial but is not essential.
- The role is primarily contentious: candidates whose experience is focused on advising on or preparing patent applications, rather than patent litigation, are unlikely to be suitable.
