Our customer, a global technology company is seeking an experienced attorney with a strong background in the electricity sector across the EMEA region, particularly in advising large-scale energy consumers such as data centres. You will play a key role in negotiations with utilities on datacentre interconnections, with landlords on electricity supply terms, and with renewable energy developers on power purchase and attribute agreements. You will also provide insights into electricity policy developments. While the primary focus is EMEA, occasional support in other regions may be needed.
Duration: 6–18 months
Key Qualifications
- Legal Expertise: Demonstrated experience advising on electricity interconnection, supply, and related agreements for large electricity customers. Familiarity with regulatory frameworks and policy advocacy in the energy sector.
- Professional Background: Qualified lawyer with a minimum of 4 years in private practice at a reputable law firm or in-house counsel experience with exposure to complex energy or infrastructure projects.
- Education: Law degree from a recognised institution.
- Core Skills: Strong communication abilities, and proven success in managing multiple complex projects involving internal stakeholders, external counsel, and counterparties.
