An excellent opportunity for a Legal / Regulatory Compliance Counsel to join a busy and collaborative team on a mid‐term contract basis. This role will suit a compliance professional from any regulated industry, with the ability to quickly understand organisational frameworks and support a wide range of compliance activities.
Location: East London / Hybrid – 2 days per week in the office
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: 3–6 months
Practice Area: Legal, Regulatory & Compliance
Qualification: A qualified lawyer who has built up solid experience after qualifying, specifically in corporate governance and compliance.
Key Skills:
- Able to commit to a hybrid working model 2 days per week
- Strong background in regulatory or legal compliance (any sector accepted)
- Comfortable advising on a range of regulatory and governance requirements
- Able to work independently while contributing effectively within a team
- Clear communicator with strong stakeholder‐engagement skills
- Pragmatic, organised, and confident handling multiple priorities
- Charity sector experience is helpful but not essential
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting legal and regulatory compliance activity across the organisation
- Reviewing and strengthening compliance policies, controls, and frameworks
- Advising on risk areas including AML, fraud, bribery, safeguarding, and data protection
- Monitoring regulatory updates and supporting implementation of new requirements
- Assisting with incident reporting, follow‐up actions, and documentation
- Collaborating with risk, assurance, ESG, and data protection teams to drive a strong compliance culture
- Managing workload independently while delivering accurate, practical advice
