Elevate is seeking an experienced Commercial / Regulatory Lawyer (Consumer Credit / Payments) on a 12âmonth fixedâterm basis for one of its customers. The role supports business growth, international expansion, regulatory change initiatives and product development, with a focus on payments and consumer finance products.
This opportunity sits within an established legal function and will suit a commercially minded lawyer who can operate with a high degree of autonomy and deliver practical, riskâbased legal advice in a fastâpaced, regulated environment. The role offers broad exposure across financial services and fintech, making it well suited to candidates seeking variety and business impact rather than a narrow technical remit.

Candidate Requirements:
- UKâqualified solicitor with 5â8+ years' postâqualification experience
- Experience within financial services, fintech, payments, consumer finance, lending or other regulated environments
- Strong background advising on regulatory, commercial and productârelated matters
- Comfortable providing advice to senior business stakeholders
- Experience supporting regulated products within a commercial setting
- Fluent English required; European language skills are advantageous
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the development, launch and optimisation of payments and consumer credit products across the UK and Europe
- Advise on payments and consumer credit matters, including regulated lending and BNPLâstyle propositions
- Provide legal input on regulatory change initiatives impacting financial services and consumer finance
- Interpret and apply UK and EU regulatory frameworks to support business objectives
- Deliver commercial, pragmatic legal advice to enable growth while managing regulatory risk
- Support product design, marketing activity and customer journeys from a legal and regulatory perspective
- Assist with policy reviews, customer documentation and operational processes connected to regulated products
- Contribute to adâhoc advisory work arising from expansion, transformation or regulatory developments
