We are seeking an experienced Investigations Lawyer to support a global healthcare organization on a 6-month contract. This role will focus on managing internal and external investigations across a range of legal, compliance, and regulatory matters. You will play a key part in safeguarding the business by ensuring thorough, objective, and risk-sensitive investigative processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support internal investigations related to employee conduct, audit findings, and compliance concerns.
- Handle complex issues involving allegations of fraud, bribery (including FCPA), regulatory breaches, and other ethical or governance matters.
- Liaise with cross-functional teams including Legal, Compliance, Internal Audit, and HR to assess allegations, plan investigative steps, and determine scope.
- Conduct document reviews, employee interviews, and prepare internal investigation reports.
- Support responses to external or government investigations involving regulators or law enforcement.
- Collaborate with external counsel and forensic experts where independent or specialist input is required.
- Ensure investigations are conducted in a timely, legally sound, and proportionate manner with proper documentation and risk assessments.
- Provide guidance on remediation actions and lessons learned following case closure.
Key Requirements
- Qualified solicitor or barrister (UK or equivalent).
- Proven experience in conducting or managing investigations, ideally in a multinational or highly regulated environment.
- Strong knowledge of FCPA, anti-bribery/anti-corruption laws, regulatory compliance, and corporate governance.
- Experience coordinating with external counsel, forensic specialists, or regulatory bodies is desirable.
- Excellent judgment, discretion, and ability to manage sensitive matters.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Experience
- Background in compliance, white-collar crime, or internal audit law.
- Experience working within in-house legal teams or for clients in the healthcare/life sciences sector.
