The Opportunity
Our customer, a UK based law firm is seeking an experienced Construction Lawyer to join its practice. This is a key hire within a close-knit team led by two Partners, offering direct exposure to high-quality work and strategic input into the team’s continued growth. The team is looking to expand and strengthen its offering, creating an opportunity for an experienced construction lawyer to play a meaningful role in shaping the next phase of development.
The Role
You will work closely with two Partners and senior members of the team on a broad range of construction matters. The split between transactional and contentious work can be shaped around the successful candidate’s background and expertise.
Responsibilities are likely to include:
- Advising on a range of construction contracts and related documentation
- Supporting clients across the lifecycle of construction projects
- Handling or assisting with disputes (where relevant)
- Contributing to business development and client relationship management
- Supporting the ongoing growth and structure of the team
Candidate Profile
Essential Requirements:
- Qualified lawyer (England & Wales or equivalent)
- Minimum 2 years’ PQE, ideally 5+ years’ experience
- Demonstrable experience in construction law (contentious, non-contentious, or mixed)
- Strong technical drafting and advisory skills
- Ability to work closely with senior stakeholders and Partners
Desirable:
- Experience working within a recognised construction practice
- Interest in helping shape and grow a developing team
- Comfortable operating with a degree of autonomy
