Elevate Legal Talent is seeking a Mid-Senior Construction Lawyer to work on high-value, complex projects for major utilities, leading contractors, and top-tier clients. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced solicitor to lead advisory work on multi-million-pound construction projects, covering both contentious and non-contentious matters, and working with contracts such as JCT, NEC, and FIDIC.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead legal advisory on complex construction projects from inception to completion
  • Draft, review, and negotiate large-scale construction contracts (JCT, NEC, FIDIC)
  • Advise clients on risk, compliance, and contract strategy across multi-million-pound projects
  • Manage and mentor junior lawyers and paralegals within the construction team
  • Support clients in disputes and claims where necessary, with a focus on resolution strategy
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships with senior stakeholders

Candidate Profile

Essential Requirements:

  • Qualified solicitor (England & Wales or equivalent)
  • Minimum 5–10 years’ PQE, with substantial experience in construction law (contentious and non-contentious)
  • Proven expertise in JCT, NEC, and FIDIC contracts
  • Strong advisory and drafting skills for large-scale, complex projects
  • Leadership experience, including mentoring junior lawyers and managing client engagements
  • Ability to work independently and drive strategic outcomes for clients

Desirable:

  • Experience within a recognised construction practice
  • Exposure to high-profile utility, infrastructure, or major contractor projects
  • Interest in contributing to team growth and practice development
