Our customer, a British gas distribution company is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Construction / Commercial Lawyer with at least 8 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) to join their team for a 6-month contract role. This position requires a candidate with a strong background in NEC4 contracts, general construction law, and commercial law. The successful candidate will be a well-rounded legal professional, capable of working autonomously and managing procurement tenders, contract negotiations, and commercial matters. The role may also involve some non-contentious dispute and contract management experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert legal advice on all aspects of construction and commercial law, with a particular focus on NEC4 contracts.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts, including procurement tenders, construction agreements, and commercial contracts.
- Manage the commercial aspects of construction projects, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Offer support in contract management, identifying and mitigating risks associated with contractual obligations.
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, including procurement teams and project managers, to ensure legal requirements are met throughout the lifecycle of construction projects.
