Our customer, a leader in travel/hospitality industry is seeking an experienced Commercial/ Regulatory Lawyer to join their legal team for a 6 months contract role. This role will support the business by reviewing and ensuring compliance for various services offered by hosts, such as tours, food-related activities, and nature excursions. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing local regulatory and compliance implications, including licensing and permit requirements, and providing clear legal advice to the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support a project to review and assess the regulatory and compliance implications of services that hosts may wish to list in the EMEA region.
- Research and ensure compliance with local regulations, including licensing and permit requirements.
- Review existing external legal advice and apply it accordingly to relevant business activities.
- Provide strategic legal guidance to the business to ensure adherence to all necessary regulations.
- Coordinate with external counsel as needed, especially when expanding into new regions or countries, and compile the advice into a clear, easily searchable document.
Key Requirements:
- 5-7 years PQE (Qualified in any EU jurisdiction). Candidates with relevant experience, even without formal qualification, will be considered.
- General commercial law experience, ideally with a background in regulatory law.
- Experience in consumer law (not financial services).
- Strong research skills and the ability to assess regulatory and compliance requirements.
- In-house legal experience with the ability to influence and communicate effectively across teams.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience within the travel, tourism, or online platform sectors is highly beneficial.
- Prior experience with regulatory compliance in the hospitality or leisure industry is a plus.
