We are seeking a skilled Commercial FinTech Lawyer to join our client’s legal team on a contract basis. This hybrid role is based in White City, London, and offers the opportunity to work with a leading player in the financial technology sector. The successful candidate will provide commercial legal support on a range of technology-driven financial services matters, with a strong focus on contracts, regulatory alignment, and stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including vendor, SaaS, partnership, and platform contracts
  • Advise on legal and regulatory issues related to financial technology products and services (e.g. PSD2, FCA regulations, electronic payments, AML)
  • Support product launches and business initiatives by providing clear, risk-based legal guidance
  • Liaise with internal teams (compliance, risk, product, tech) and external counsel as needed
  • Ensure contracts and practices align with company policies and applicable UK/EU financial regulations

Requirements:

  • UK-qualified solicitor with 4+ years PQE, preferably with in-house experience in a fintech or financial services environment
  • Proven experience advising on commercial contracts and financial technology matters
  • Strong understanding of the UK fintech regulatory landscape
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment
  • Available to start at short notice

Desirable:

  • Prior experience in a scale-up or tech-driven environment
  • Knowledge of data protection (UK GDPR) and intellectual property rights in fintech contexts
