An opportunity for an experienced Regulatory & Litigation Counsel to join a high-profile technology organisation on a fixed-term basis. The role sits within the EMEA Regulatory Affairs Defence team and will focus on managing business-critical regulatory investigations and litigation during a period of increased workload and team absence.

This is a hands-on role requiring direct engagement with the business and senior stakeholders, suited to an upper mid-level to senior lawyer with strong regulatory defence experience.

Contract Duration: 6-7 months

Contract Type: Fixed-term / Temporary (leave coverage)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage regulatory investigations and litigation relating to online content, consumer protection, children’s safety, and artificial intelligence
  • Advise on and defend matters under key regulatory frameworks, including:
  • UK Online Safety Act
  • EU Digital Services Act (DSA)
  • EU AI Act
  • Act as a primary legal contact for the business on assigned matters, providing clear, pragmatic risk-based advice
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external counsel to ensure effective regulatory and litigation strategy
  • Support ongoing regulatory compliance and defence initiatives during a period of team transition and leave coverage
  • Candidate Requirements:

    • Qualified solicitor or barrister licensed to practise in the UK or Ireland
    • Strong background in litigation and regulatory defence, ideally within the technology, digital, or regulated sectors
    • Experience handling complex, business-critical regulatory investigations
    • Familiarity with online safety, consumer protection, platform regulation, or AI-related legislation
    • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment with direct business interaction
    • Able to work autonomously while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams

    This role would suit a lawyer operating at the upper end of mid-level or senior level who can quickly step in and provide robust regulatory defence support.
