Role Overview
Our customer, an international financial services organisation, is seeking a junior to mid-level Debt Capital Markets (DCM) Lawyer to join its legal team on a 6-month contract. This role offers hands-on exposure to a broad range of DCM transactions in a fast-paced, deal-driven environment. The successful candidate will support on the execution of capital markets transactions, working closely with senior lawyers, internal stakeholders, and external counsel.
Key Responsibilities
- Advising on a range of debt capital markets transactions, including bond issuances and structured debt products
- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating transaction documentation such as offering memoranda, prospectuses, subscription agreements, and programme documentation
- Supporting on EMTN programmes and standalone issuances
- Assisting with regulatory and compliance considerations relevant to DCM transactions
- Liaising with internal stakeholders including front office, compliance, risk, and operations
- Managing external counsel and coordinating transaction timetables
- Providing legal support across the transaction lifecycle, from structuring to closing
Candidate Requirements
- Qualified lawyer (England & Wales or equivalent common law jurisdiction)
- 1–5 years’ post-qualification experience in Debt Capital Markets
- Experience gained within a leading law firm or in-house financial services environment
- Strong understanding of capital markets documentation and processes
- Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume, time-sensitive environment
- Strong drafting skills and attention to detail
- Confident communicator with a collaborative approach
Desirable
- Prior in-house or investment banking experience
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks impacting debt capital markets
