Elevate Search is partnering with a successful and growing business in Hertford to recruit an experienced Financial Controller. This is a genuinely hands-on Financial Controller role for someone who enjoys leading a finance team whilst remaining close to the numbers. We are looking for an established FC with strong experience across management reporting, month-end, statutory accounts, external audit, VAT and financial controls, ideally with experience using Sage. This isn't a strategic or commercially focused finance position. The successful candidate will be comfortable rolling their sleeves up and getting into the detail when required – whether that's posting a journal, completing a balance sheet reconciliation or helping the team get month-end over the line. Key responsibilities will include: Ownership and delivery of monthly management reporting. Leading the month-end and year-end close processes. Producing and reviewing management accounts. Preparing and reviewing journals, accruals and prepayments. Ownership and review of balance sheet reconciliations. Preparation and review of VAT returns and ensuring VAT compliance.
