An established and growing food manufacturing business in the Ripon area is seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer to take full ownership of engineering and maintenance operations at site level. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive engineer who enjoys autonomy, responsibility, and the chance to make a genuine impact.

Reporting directly to senior management, you will be the lead engineering professional on site, responsible for maintaining production equipment, facilities, and utilities while overseeing a Site Support Technician.

The Role

  • Lead all planned and reactive maintenance activities across the site.
  • Ensure maximum equipment reliability and production uptime.
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical faults efficiently.
  • Develop and manage preventative maintenance schedules.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and engineering projects.
  • Manage engineering contractors and ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Maintain spare parts stock and engineering documentation.
  • Ensure all engineering activities are completed in line with health, safety, and food manufacturing standards.
  • Provide guidance and direction to a Site Support Technician supporting the engineering function.
