An established and expanding food importer and distributor based in Park Royal is seeking an experienced Meat Buyer to lead and develop its meat category. The Role

Reporting into senior management, you will be responsible for the commercial and operational performance of the meat category, ensuring the business maintains a competitive and profitable product offering. Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing and developing the meat category strategy.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with domestic and international suppliers.
  • Negotiating pricing, supply agreements, and commercial terms.
  • Monitoring market trends and identifying opportunities for growth and improvement.
  • Managing stock levels and forecasting requirements to ensure product availability.
  • Coordinating inbound logistics and supply chain activities with third-party partners.
  • Leading and supporting a small team.
  • Driving continuous improvement across procurement and category management processes.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Previous experience in a Meat Buyer, Protein Buyer, Category Buyer, Procurement Manager or similar purchasing role.
  • Proven experience sourcing meat or protein products.
  • Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
  • Experience managing or mentoring team members.
  • Excellent organisational and analytical abilities.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • A genuine passion for food and product quality.
