We are recruiting for a talented and enthusiastic Butchery Manager, with exceptional standards, to lead the team at an independent, family run farm shop near Wellingborough. You will be joining an award-winning food retailer with an enviable reputation for exceptional quality products and staff development.
The Role
- Manage a small team of Butchers and Butchery Assistants - leading by example and providing ongoing training and motivation to staff.
- Responsible for butchery sales & profit.
- Deliver an outstanding experience to all customers.
- Creating inspiring, innovative, seasonally changing displays.
- Ensuring self-serve displays in chillers are attractive and shoppable.
- Proactively sharing product information with the team and with customers.
- All due diligence β health and safety, food safety etc.
- Monitoring sales and margin performance and taking action to ensure targets are met.
- Stock control.
- Play an active role in store set up and closedown.
- Participating in stocktakes, meetings and training as required.
The Candidate
- Strong knife skills.
- Previous Management Experience β ideally gained as owner or manager of a Butchery Shop or as Butchery Manager, Assistant Butchery Manager, Head Butcher or similar.
- Commercial awareness and the understanding of yields and costs.
- Proven ability to manage profit and loss margins.
- Excellent customer service and sales skills.
- Be a good communicator at all levels.
- Be honest, reliable and dedicated.
This is a full-time position, DAYS ONLY. 47.5 Hour Week. Flexible Working Days. You will work 5 days from 7 (including 1 day at the weekend). The successful candidate will be joining an established, multi-site retail business with an excellent reputation in their sector. In return for meeting the above criteria the successful candidate will be rewarded with a competitive basic salary of between Β£35-38,000 (dependant on skills and experience) plus benefits. This is a fantastic opportunity to join an award-winning business, with ambitious plans for the future.
