Are you a highly focused and determined Senior Operations Manager / Head of Operations? Do you have a proven track record of managing high performing teams in a fast-paced food warehousing and distribution business? Are you looking for the next step in your career? We are looking for a talented and ambitious Operations Manager / Head of Operations to join a rapidly growing business with a first-rate reputation in their sector. The successful candidate will be a key member of the Site Senior Leadership Team.
Key Role Responsibilities:- Lead and manage the day-to-day Operation of a busy Distribution Centre.
- Drive continuous improvement across processes, workflow, inventory, and efficiency through the development and implementation of effective strategies.
- Analyse and report on KPIs.
- Monitor and maintain fulfilment performance metrics.
- Set and communicate business expectations through weekly team meetings.
- Take a lead role in hiring, developing, and managing staff (including performance management, disciplinaries, and one-on-one meetings).
- Be target driven, setting and achieving daily / monthly business targets - providing clear reporting on progress.
- Collaborate closely with other business functions to understand sales forecasts, staffing requirements, operational space, and technology needs for peak planning.
- Maintain customer compliance and exceed customer expectations.
- Strive for service excellence keeping the customer as the primary focus whilst ensuring compliance with legal, safety, and regulatory requirements.
- Attend business meetings at all levels - serve as the direct Operations contact (both internally and externally).
- A proven track record in a similar role managing a warehouse or distribution centre.
- Demonstrable experience in food and beverage import / distribution.
- Professional understanding of finance, supply chain, workflow and staff management.
- First Class Leadership Skills and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organisational skills.
- The ability to build strong internal and external relationships.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with exceptional listening skills.
- PC literacy skills – MS Office, knowledge of SAP and warehouse management systems.
- The ability to develop strategic plans to improve and optimise the operations department.
In return for meeting the above criteria you will be rewarded with a salary of £75-85K (dependant on skills and experience) plus car allowance, plus excellent bonus and other employee benefits.
