A well-established and growing food manufacturing business based in Park Royal is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager (Sole Engineer) to take full responsibility for engineering and site maintenance at its production facility.
This is a hands-on, autonomous position suited to a highly capable multi-skilled engineer who thrives on ownership, accountability, and problem-solving in a fast-paced food environment.
The RoleAs the sole engineer on site, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of all production machinery, refrigeration systems, and site services. You will play a key role in minimising downtime and ensuring compliance with food safety and health & safety standards.
Key Responsibilities- Delivering planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across all equipment
- Diagnosing and repairing electrical and mechanical faults
- Maintaining refrigeration and cold storage systems (experience desirable)
- Managing external contractors and specialist service providers
- Ensuring compliance with HACCP, food safety, and audit requirements
- Maintaining accurate maintenance records and documentation
- Identifying and implementing continuous improvement initiatives
- Supporting production teams to minimise downtime and maximise efficiency
- Proven engineering experience within food production, FMCG, or a similar environment
- Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills
- Experience working independently as a sole engineer or lead engineer
- Knowledge of refrigeration systems is advantageous
- Solid understanding of food safety and compliance standards
