We are seeking a dedicated Cook to join our caring team at a well-established nursing home near Alfreton. You will play a vital role in preparing nutritious, delicious, and well-presented meals for our residents, catering to various dietary needs and preferences. This is a day shift role (30 hours per week).
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook fresh, high-quality meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
- Accommodate special dietary requirements, including allergies, texture-modified diets, and cultural preferences.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic kitchen in line with food safety regulations.
- Plan menus in collaboration with the care team to ensure balanced and appealing meals.
- Manage stock levels and assist with ordering supplies.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a cook, ideally in a care home, hospital, or similar setting.
- Knowledge of dietary needs for the elderly, including pureed and soft food diets.
- Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
- Strong communication skills and a caring, team-oriented attitude.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends.
In return for meeting the above criteria, you will be rewarded with an hourly rate of £12.50, plus overtime, company pension scheme and onsite parking.
