  • About the

Role: We are seeking an Asbestos Surveyor to join an Asset Management team.

In this role, you will survey properties to locate the presence of asbestos-containing materials by undertaking asbestos Management Surveys across all domestic and commercial stock.

You will also assist with Refurbishment and Demolition (R&D) and Re-inspection survey programmes as required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake asbestos Management Surveys using TEAMS (The Electronic Asbestos Management System) in line with HSG264 for domestic and commercial properties.
  • Accurately record the presence and condition of suspect Asbestos Containing Materials and all non-asbestos materials to provide full management data for use by the business, specifically in-house maintenance teams.
  • Manage your own diary to achieve expected monthly survey KPIs.
  • Undertake asbestos Refurbishment and Demolition Surveys and Re-inspection Surveys as required.
  • Respond promptly to requests for information from customers and other departments, actively seeking solutions to achieve satisfactory outcomes.
  • Provide specialist technical advice and information on all types of asbestos surveys to other areas of the business.
  • Assist with onsite inspections and QC of survey reports to ensure consistent high-quality data.
  • Assist the Asbestos Manager with the management of the Management Survey programmes, recording cancellations, refusals, and access issues.
  • Take responsibility for personal development, keeping up to date with changes in legislation, best practices, and other developments in Asset Management.

Requirements

  • Educated to GCSE standard (or equivalent), including passes in English and Maths.
  • P402 Surveying & Sampling Strategies for Asbestos in Buildings or RSPH Level 3 Award in Asbestos Surveying with 2 years of lead surveyor experience.
  • Good IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and the ability to use bespoke databases and systems (TEAMS experience desirable but not essential).
  • Experience in customer-focused service delivery with the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with internal and external customers.
  • Ability to organise and plan your own workload to meet operational priorities and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Experience in dealing with queries relating to asbestos surveys and databases.
  • Full UK manual driving licence.
  • Confident communicator with a keen eye for detail.
  • Housing association experience is desirable.

Additional Information

  • This role requires extensive travel throughout our operating region, so candidates must live in or on the border of this region.
  • Ideally, work will be completed as near to the colleague’s home as possible, but travel will be required.
