A North London local authority is recruiting an experienced Legal Disrepair Surveyor to support its housing service on an interim basis. The role is delivery-focused and sits squarely in the legal disrepair space.
Responsibilities:
- Inspecting residential properties subject to legal disrepair claims
- Preparing clear, robust technical reports for use in legal proceedings
- Supporting both pre-litigation and litigated cases
- Advising on remedial works, costs, and realistic programmes
- Working with legal services, housing teams, contractors, and external solicitors
- Acting as an expert witness where required
Requirements:
- Proven experience managing housing disrepair cases, ideally within a local authority
- Strong understanding of the legal disrepair process and court expectations
- Experience producing Part 35 compliant reports
- Ability to manage a caseload independently in a pressured environment
- Relevant surveying qualification or equivalent practical experience
