This interim opportunity within the Housing Directorate focuses on delivering planned improvements and major repairs across a housing stock of 5,200+ homes. You will support the capital investment programme, ensuring homes are safe and meet the Decent Homes Standard.
Working within the Planned Works Team and/or Repairs Service, you will manage contracts, ensure quality assurance, and carry out site inspections and scoping of works. The programme includes kitchen and bathroom replacements, roofing, windows, doors, and internal/external improvements, as well as major repairs and complex works.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver contract management and quality assurance for improvement programmes and major repairs.
- Conduct site inspections and scope works for kitchen and bathroom replacements, roofing, windows, doors, and other improvements.
- Ensure quality standards and value for money in contract management.
- Maintain a customer-focused approach, embedding equality and diversity in service delivery.
- Communicate effectively with residents, contractors, and internal teams.
Requirements:
- Degree or HND in Building Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience in housing/property and planned works contract delivery.
- Knowledge of Social Housing Standards, Decent Homes Standard, HHSRS, and landlord responsibilities.
- Experience and/or knowledge of CDM regulations and Health & Safety.
