The role offers significant scope to innovate and leave a lasting legacy through new approaches to earlier intervention and prevention, community-based models of delivery, and the use of technology. As the Director of Adult Social Care, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of adult social care across the region. You will lead a complex, high-impact portfolio covering statutory adult care services, safeguarding, transformation programmes and health system integration, all with a clear focus on improving independence, wellbeing, and resilience for our residents. It is an excellent opportunity, with the Director of Public Health and Director of Children’s Services within the People service, to lead across the whole system, influence the long-term direction of the council and the wider partnership and help improve outcomes for communities across the district. The role offers a unique platform to shape policy and strategic thinking at both organisational and regional levels, ensuring the authority remains at the forefront of innovation, prevention and wellbeing. As a member of the Corporate Management Team, you will have a direct role in shaping the overall strategic direction and collective leadership. You will work across the organisation and with partners in the NHS and in the voluntary and community sector demonstrating bold leadership, compassionate values and a drive to deliver change at scale. You will be an experienced and accomplished senior leader who can step confidently into a significant and complex local authority role.
