An ambitious local authority with a well-established commercial property investment portfolio is seeking an Interim Asset Management Surveyor to join its Investment Team. The council manages a diverse portfolio valued at c.£284m, generating annual income of c.£19m and comprising over 200 assets across town centre regeneration schemes, industrial, retail, office, and leisure properties. This role is hands-on, estate-focused, and central to delivering the priorities set out in the Annual Property Plan.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Day-to-day asset and estate management of a commercial investment portfolio, including directly let and ground-leased properties
- Rent reviews, new lettings, lease renewals, and general landlord and tenant matters
- Processing licences for consent, surrenders, and dilapidations
- Estate management of multi-let properties, including service charge budgeting and management
- Oversight of external letting agents where appointed
- Debt monitoring and income management across the portfolio
- Input into project groups where assets fall within the managed portfolio or where property expertise is required
- Undertaking valuations as required
Candidates will need:
- RICS qualification
- Proven experience within a commercial property or investment environment
- Strong working knowledge of commercial leases
- A full UK driving licence (access to a vehicle preferred due to site visits)
