I’m currently partnered with a leading Private Equity client in London who are looking to appoint an Engineering Team Lead / Development Manager to head up a small but high-performing engineering function. This is an excellent opportunity to join a forward-thinking organisation that places technology at the heart of its business strategy.
The successful individual will lead a multi-skilled engineering team delivering modern, cloud-native solutions across both data and software engineering. You will set direction, provide technical leadership, and play a key role in shaping the technical architecture and delivery approach. The role offers a mix of hands-on development, team leadership, and engagement with senior business stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of talented engineers
- Work closely with business stakeholders to shape requirements and define solutions
- Design and deliver scalable, secure, and business-critical applications and data solutions
- Promote best practice in DevSecOps, CI/CD, and cloud-native development
- Support wider technology initiatives, including citizen development and innovation projects
About You
- Proven experience as an Engineering Team Lead or Development Manager, ideally in financial services or a similarly fast-paced industry
- Strong hands-on coding skills in at least one modern programming language (e.g. TypeScript, Python, Node.js, etc.)
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred), modern data environments, and tools such as Terraform, Spark, React, and Snowflake
- Strong communicator, comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders
- A leader who values collaboration, technical excellence, and continuous improvement
