We are supporting a global financial services and insurance organisation in their search for an experienced commercial lawyer with fluent Japanese language skills to join on an interim basis as soon as possible. This is a rare opportunity for a bilingual legal professional to support a fast-paced in-house legal team on a fully remote assignment, with strong exposure to cross-border commercial work in a regulated environment.
The Role
- Provide day-to-day commercial legal support across a range of business and contractual matters, working closely with stakeholders across multiple jurisdictions.
- This is a flexible interim role within a global organisation, offering exposure to complex international commercial contracts and stakeholder engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a broad range of commercial contracts
- Supporting ongoing business operations in a regulated financial services/insurance environment
- Advising internal stakeholders on contractual risk and interpretation
- Working with cross-border legal and business teams
- Providing Japanese-language support for regional stakeholders and documentation where required
About You
- Strong experience as a commercial lawyer (in-house or private practice)
- Business fluent Japanese (essential)
- Experience in financial services or insurance (preferred)
