Location: Salisbury (hybrid working – ideally 3 days onsite, minimum 1 day plus within reasonable travel distance of tribunal/court work)

This is a hands-on Legal Officer position within an in-house legal team, focused on residential property litigation and dispute resolution. You will take ownership of First-tier Tribunal (Property Chamber) matters and County Court claims, with a strong focus on service charge disputes, including Section 27 reasonableness applications. The role is highly advocacy-focused, with regular tribunal attendance and the opportunity to represent the business directly in hearings.

Open to both qualified and non-qualified legal professionals, including experienced paralegals, where relevant litigation/tribunal experience is strong. Proven experience in property litigation or housing litigation, ideally gained within a law firm or in-house legal team.

About You

  • Around 5+ years’ experience in residential property litigation, landlord & tenant disputes, or housing-related legal work
  • Strong property litigation/housing litigation background within a law firm or in-house environment
  • Strong experience with First-tier Tribunal (Property Chamber) matters is essential
  • Confident handling of service charge disputes / Section 27 reasonableness applications
  • Experience preparing, managing, and presenting cases in a tribunal or court
  • Strong written advocacy and communication skills
  • Comfortable attending hearings and representing an organisation independently
  • Strong IT skills and openness to legal systems and process improvement tools

Desirable (not essential)

  • Qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive (CILEX)
  • Experience in property management, housing associations, or block management environments
  • Experience mentoring junior staff or paralegals
  • Experience producing internal legal guidance or training materials
  • Membership of TPI and/or RICS
