Elevate Legal Talent is seeking an experienced Senior Privacy Lawyer / Privacy Lead to join a leading global technology and information services organisation on an initial 6-month contract. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of privacy, data protection, cybersecurity and AI governance, supporting a global legal function on complex, multi-jurisdictional matters.

  • Initial 6-month contract
  • Approx. 30 hours per week
  • Hybrid working (1 day per week in London)

About You

  • Qualified lawyer with approximately 8-10+ years' PQE.
  • Strong expertise in UK GDPR, EU GDPR and wider privacy regulation.
  • Experience advising multinational organisations on privacy compliance across Europe, APAC and/or MEA.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity regulation.
  • Experience gained in-house or advising technology, SaaS, fintech, information services or other data-driven businesses.
  • Previous experience leading or mentoring lawyers.
  • Commercially minded with excellent stakeholder management skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise on UK GDPR, EU GDPR and international privacy laws.
  • Provide legal support on data protection, cybersecurity and AI governance matters.
  • Lead and mentor a team of privacy lawyers.
  • Support privacy-by-design initiatives for technology and AI-enabled products.
  • Draft and negotiate commercial agreements, including customer agreements, software licences, DPAs and NDAs.
  • Partner with senior business stakeholders across legal, product, engineering and compliance functions.
  • Help shape and implement the organisation's global privacy strategy.

Desirable

  • Experience advising on AI governance or AI compliance.
  • Experience engaging with regulators.
  • Privacy certification (e.g. CIPP/E).
  • Familiarity with ISO 27701, SOC 2 and privacy information management frameworks.
  • Experience supporting highly regulated industries such as legal, financial services or compliance.
