Privacy Lawyer / Privacy Lead (Interim)
Elevate Legal Talent is seeking an experienced Privacy Lawyer/Privacy Lead to join a leading global technology and information services organisation on an interim contract through the end of December.
This is an exciting opportunity to support a global privacy programme, working at the intersection of privacy, technology, data governance and compliance. The successful candidate will play a key role in operationalising privacy processes, managing data inventories and mapping initiatives, and driving privacy compliance across a complex international organisation.

About You
- Qualified lawyer with approximately 8+ years' PQE.
- Previous experience managing or leading a privacy operations team.
- Experience in privacy operations, data protection, cybersecurity or compliance.
- Advanced/expert OneTrust experience is essential (ideally with 3–5+ years' hands-on experience configuring and managing the platform).
- Strong experience with data mapping and data inventory management.
- Strong knowledge of GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA and wider international privacy regulations.
- Experience managing privacy processes including DPIAs/PIAs, TIAs, DSARs and ROPA.
- Experience translating privacy and regulatory requirements into practical operational processes and system controls.
- Strong understanding of data flows, data classification, retention and lifecycle management.
- Experience working with Legal, IT, Information Security, Product and business stakeholders.
- Excellent communication, organisational and analytical skills, with the ability to manage a high volume of work and competing priorities.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and operationalise the organisation's global privacy programme.
- Configure, manage and optimise OneTrust privacy management processes and workflows.
- Build and maintain data inventories and data mapping initiatives.
- Manage privacy assessments including PIAs, DPIAs and TIAs.
- Coordinate DSARs and other privacy-related operational processes.
- Maintain ROPA and wider privacy documentation.
- Identify privacy risks and work with stakeholders to implement appropriate mitigation measures.
- Support privacy incident response, audits and regulatory enquiries.
- Partner with Legal, IT, Information Security, Product and Business teams to embed privacy-by-design principles.
- Support vendor and third-party privacy assessments and contractual privacy requirements.
- Develop and maintain privacy procedures, playbooks, reporting and programme metrics.
- Identify opportunities to improve and automate privacy processes using technology and AI-enabled tools.
Desirable
- Experience supporting legal, financial services, SaaS or other highly regulated/data-driven organisations.
- Privacy certification such as CIPM, CIPP/E or CIPP/US.
- Experience with Power BI, Power Automate or other workflow/automation tools.
- Experience with data governance tools, SIEM systems or privacy-enhancing technologies.
- Experience with privacy automation and AI governance.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and practices.
