Are you solutions-focused, with the ability to strengthen your managers’ capability to lead their teams effectively? This Senior HR Advisor position will act as the first point of contact for HR queries, with particular responsibility for managing employee relations casework and supporting managers through people processes. The organisation operates in a complex, fast-moving commercial environment where people capability and leadership effectiveness are central to business success. The HR function exists to ensure the organisation has the right people, in the right roles, at the right time, while providing the expertise needed to support managers in leading their teams effectively.

Key Senior HR Advisor Responsibilities:

  • Manage a wide range of employee relations casework, including disciplinary, grievance, capability, absence and performance matters.
  • Attend formal meetings and hearings as the HR representative, ensuring processes are fair, consistent and compliant.
  • Provide clear, pragmatic guidance to managers, balancing legal requirements with commercial reality.
  • Support the development, review and implementation of HR policies.
  • Monitor UK employment legislation and ensure policies and processes remain compliant and up to date.
  • Coach and support managers on best practice people management, including conduct, absence and performance management.
  • Deliver training and guidance on employee relations topics, new policies and legislative updates.
  • Maintain accurate HR records within the organisation’s HR systems.
  • Analyse employee relations trends and data to support proactive HR interventions and continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to HR initiatives and projects relating to culture, wellbeing and employee experience.
  • Build effective relationships with managers and stakeholders, providing practical, solutions-focused HR advice.
