The predicted salary is between 28000 - 32000 £ per year.

The position will report to the Head of Staging & Logistics and will work closely with all departments of the organisation to effectively and efficiently deliver the best possible service to the group. The role will have full responsibility for all stock control, order processing & distribution from our Wenlock DC.

Key Responsibilities

  • You will be directly involved in receiving, storing, moving and issuing a range of materials and equipment associated with the construction of broadband networks and completion of customer installations.
  • There will be start and end of day routines to be managed so that there is effective control of inbound and outbound movements of plant, machinery and materials, ensuring that accurate records are kept at all times.
  • You will respond to urgent requirements for items to be delivered to site and may find yourself making those deliveries yourself.
  • Loading, unloading, checking, moving, storing, palletising, picking or packing products by hand or with a forklift truck.
  • Operating a forklift truck to move and rearrange stock and ensure that products are stored safely (especially hazardous material) and labelled correctly.
  • Picking orders using a hand‑held scanner from the storage space and bringing them for packing, or to the loading bay for transportation.
  • Organising transfers and loading goods onto delivery vehicles.
  • Maintaining equipment.
  • Managing received goods or goods for dispatch checking for damaged or missing items and then sorting stock for storage in the warehouse.
  • Keeping accurate records, either paper‑based or on a computer.
  • Keeping a careful record of the stock on the warehouse management system, so that it can be located quickly.
  • Ensure orders are packaged and labelled correctly to prevent issues.
  • Manage all yard operations and ensure compliance with Health and Safety.
  • Oversee procedures for issuing out stock.
  • Implement a robust stock control system and ensuring that the correct stock levels are maintained.
  • Check the quality of goods coming in and out.
  • Picking requested stocks on a trade counter type environment, operating the FLT as required.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork in line with company procedures.
  • Ensure the yard is safe, clean, and tidy.
  • Conduct regular stock take.
  • General warehouse and yard duties.
  • Supply/brand PPE & Corporate Clothing for all company staff.
  • Perform all other duties as reasonably requested.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Physically fit and able to move materials using the equipment provided.
  • Experience of a construction industry depot facility would be useful.
  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Willingness to get stuck in and do what’s needed to achieve effective results.
  • Basic IT proficiency.
  • Operate materials handling equipment – pallet truck & forklift (training will be provided).
  • Carry out minor repairs and commission new equipment.
  • Use stock control systems and accurately record materials movements.
  • Work safely.
  • Drive a pick‑up or van to deliver items to site.

Desired Requirements

  • Have 2 years of experience of a construction or telecommunications industry depot facility would be useful.
  • FLT Counterbalance licence (RTITB) would be useful.
