Our customer, a global law firm is seeking a highly motivated and experienced legal professional to join their team as a secondee for a 12-month term. This role is ideal for a mid-level lawyer with a strong foundation in privacy, information governance, and general compliance within an institutional or corporate context. The successful candidate will play a critical role in supporting legal and compliance operations across multiple risk domains, partnering with internal stakeholders globally.

Key Responsibilities:
- Privacy & Data Protection: Provide expert advice on global privacy and data protection laws, focusing on non-consumer contexts. Review and interpret internal privacy policies related to employee and third-party data. Advise on cross-border data transfer considerations and internal privacy frameworks.
- Information Management: Support enterprise-wide information governance programs, including classification, retention, and defensible disposal of records. Collaborate cross-functionally with legal, compliance, and technology teams. Oversee implementation of litigation holds and records management protocols.
- Financial Crime & Sanctions Compliance: Provide guidance on financial crime regulations including AML, KYC, and global sanctions regimes. Advise on policy development, escalation processes, and risk-based compliance controls.
- General Compliance Advisory: Act as a trusted advisor for internal stakeholders on a range of compliance topics. Deliver practical, business-aligned compliance advice in a timely manner. Support initiatives related to ethical culture, investment support, and governance best practices.
- Risk Assessment & Commercial Judgment: Apply sound judgment to assess legal and compliance risks and propose pragmatic solutions. Demonstrate independence in problem-solving and comfort working in ambiguous or evolving environments.

- Experience managing or advising on commercial disputes or litigation, including document preservation and early-stage risk assessment.
- Exposure to financial services or investment management industries.
