Elevate Flexible Legal Resourcing is seeking a highly skilled and commercially astute Commercial Lawyer to join one of our customer (a leading organisation in the public sector technology space), on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This role is ideal for a qualified legal professional with experience in negotiating complex commercial agreements, particularly within the public sector and telecoms/technology industries.

You’ll be supporting high-value transactions, advising on legal risk, and helping shape strategic initiatives across a dynamic and fast-paced business environment.

Requirements:

  • UK-qualified lawyer with 2+ years PQE (or equivalent relevant experience).
  • Strong background in commercial contracts, ideally within Telecoms/Technology sectors.
  • Experience with public sector procurement and CCS frameworks is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills, with the ability to simplify complex legal issues.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
  • Security clearance (BPSS, SC, DV) is a plus but not essential.
  • Pragmatic, solution-oriented, and commercially aware.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as lead legal advisor on complex and high-value commercial contracts with public and private sector clients.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of agreements including SaaS, vendor, sponsorship, and framework contracts.
  • Provide pragmatic legal advice that balances contractual risk with commercial opportunity.
  • Collaborate with bid teams and engage directly with customer legal representatives.
  • Support contract lifecycle management, including dispute resolution and regulatory updates.
  • Ensure compliance with internal governance, legal policies, and industry regulations.
  • Liaise with external legal providers and internal stakeholders to drive business outcomes.
  • Contribute to legal strategy and transformation projects across the business.
