We are looking for an experienced Campervan Converter / Pop Top Roof Fitter to join our growing team. You will play a key role in manufacturing, preparing, and fitting our premium pop top roofs, as well as carrying out high‑quality campervan conversions and interior fit‑outs.
Key Responsibilities
- Cut, prepare, and fit pop top roofs onto panel vans (including structural modifications and sealing).
- Install associated components such as canvases, frames, beds, and roof mechanisms.
- Carry out full or partial campervan conversions, including insulation, panelling, furniture, electrics, and interior fit‑outs.
- Work with GRP/fibreglass materials for roof production, repairs, and custom modifications.
- Ensure all work meets high safety, quality, and M1 certification standards.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workshop environment.
- Collaborate with the team on custom projects and problem‑solving.
- Provide advice and support during customer consultations where needed.
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience as a campervan converter, van fitter, or similar role in the automotive/motorhome industry.
- Strong practical skills in vehicle bodywork, carpentry, fabrication, and assembly.
- Ability to work accurately and to a high standard, with excellent attention to detail.
- Good understanding of vehicle safety and structural requirements.
- Full UK driving licence (preferably with van experience).
- Reliable, hardworking, and able to work as part of a small, skilled team.
Desirable Skills
- Previous experience fitting pop top roofs (highly advantageous).
- Experience working on larger vans (e.g., VW Transporter LWB, Ford Transit Custom, Vivaro/Traffic, etc.).
- Fibreglass / GRP skills – moulding, repair, resin infusion, or general composite work.
- Knowledge of campervan electrics, plumbing, gas systems, or upholstery.
- Experience with M1 certification or type approval processes.
