Role Overview
I am looking for a benefits specialist to work for 2 hours across 2 days. This is a paid role. You would be needed for 1 hour each day across 2 days in September.
Responsibilities
- Work with care leavers aged 17-25.
- Give an insightful talk for 40 minutes covering:
- Housing element of UCUC claims
- Change of circumstances and what this means
- PIP applications
- Cost of living fund
- Whether UC will still cover your rent if working
- How much your UC housing element is reduced when a YP starts to work
- How to keep your council flat if you want to go to university
- Other useful information regarding bills and how to pay rent / keep a council tenancy
- Answer questions during a Q&A for the last 10 minutes.
Qualifications
- Experience working in a job centre, preferably as a care leaver specialist work coach.
- Experience as a welfare advisor in a charity or local council.

The workshop will take place in Camden, London.
