Role Overview

I am looking for a benefits specialist to work for 2 hours across 2 days. This is a paid role. You would be needed for 1 hour each day across 2 days in September.

Responsibilities

  • Work with care leavers aged 17-25.
  • Give an insightful talk for 40 minutes covering:
    • Housing element of UCUC claims
    • Change of circumstances and what this means
    • PIP applications
    • Cost of living fund
    • Whether UC will still cover your rent if working
    • How much your UC housing element is reduced when a YP starts to work
    • How to keep your council flat if you want to go to university
    • Other useful information regarding bills and how to pay rent / keep a council tenancy
  • Answer questions during a Q&A for the last 10 minutes.

Qualifications

  • Experience working in a job centre, preferably as a care leaver specialist work coach.
  • Experience as a welfare advisor in a charity or local council.

The workshop will take place in Camden, London.
