Elevata is recruiting on behalf of a leading sheet metal manufacturing business supplying high-quality components into the Defence, Automotive and Rail sectors. Due to continued growth, they are looking to add an experienced Project Engineer to their engineering team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an engineer with strong CAD and sheet metal manufacturing knowledge who enjoys working closely with production teams and seeing projects through from concept to completion.

The Role

As a Project Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting production and ensuring projects are delivered efficiently and to the highest standards. Key responsibilities include:

  • Interpreting 2D and 3D CAD drawings and nesting parts for material optimisation
  • Creating route cards and works orders using MIEtrak
  • Supporting Design for Manufacture (DFM) activities to improve cost and manufacturability
  • Managing project timelines, materials and subcontract processes
  • Generating CNC programs for Laser and Press Brake machines using Radan and SolidWorks
  • Working closely with production and engineering teams to ensure smooth project delivery

Requirements

To be considered for this role you should have:

  • Experience within sheet metal or precision engineering environments
  • Strong SolidWorks and 2D CAD experience
  • Good understanding of Stainless Steel, Aluminium and Mild Steel
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both engineering and production teams
  • A proactive approach with strong problem-solving ability

Salary & Benefits

Starting salary from £40,000 (depending on experience)

  • 25 days holiday + bank holidays (increasing after probation)
  • Early finish on Fridays
