This is a genuinely interesting opportunity with a specialist manufacturer whose products are used in some of the most demanding environments in engineering. Working within an R&D department and reporting to the Head of Electronics, you will be responsible for testing and validating new hardware before it reaches customers in Automotive, aerospace and high-tech industries. The role is open at both junior and experienced level. What matters most is a solid foundation in electronics or software, a methodical approach to testing, and a genuine interest in getting under the bonnet of complex hardware.
What you'll be doing:
- Writing and executing structured test plans for new hardware and embedded products
- Functional, electrical, pneumatic and interface testing of prototypes and pre-production units
- Building automated test scripts in Python for data capture, regression testing and interface validation
- Verifying Ethernet (TCP/UDP) and CAN interfaces; exposure to ModbusTCP / EtherCAT is a bonus
- Analysing results in Excel and Python and producing clear validation reports
- Supporting test rig setups and maintaining clear test records and release-readiness documentation

- Electronics fundamentals (analogue/digital, embedded hardware)
- Python scripting for automation and device communication
- Understanding of TCP/UDP and CAN protocols
- Test equipment: oscilloscope, multimeter, logic analysers
