Whats in it for you?
- Most "Field" roles are just driving from one breakdown to another. This is different. You aren’t just a repairman; you are a specialist commissioned to install and oversee high-value capital equipment for some of the UK’s most innovative manufacturers.
- Boost Your Take-Home: With a competitive base and all overtime paid at 1.5x, your actual earnings are geared for significant growth beyond your salary.
- A "Quality of Life" Bonus: Benefit from a structured Service Plan bonus scheme that rewards your efficiency and customer focus.
- True Variety: One day you’re troubleshooting a PLC logic issue remotely from the office; the next, you’re on-site at a major facility leading a full-scale machine installation.
- Professional Kit: You will be provided with a modern company vehicle, high-spec tools, and the latest tech to ensure you can do your job to the highest standard.
- Investment in You: We don’t expect you to know these machines inside out on Day 1. You’ll receive extensive, hands-on technical training to become a subject matter expert.
The Role
- Joining an established leader in precision cutting technology, you will be the face of the business.
- You will manage the full lifecycle of the equipment from initial installation and commissioning to preventative maintenance and emergency breakdown support.
- Lead Installations: Take pride in seeing a project through from delivery to a fully operational, high-tech cutting system.
- Solve Complex Problems: Use your multi-skilled background to diagnose electrical, mechanical, and software-based (CAD/CAM/CNC) faults.
- Consult & Train: You aren’t just fixing machines; you’re showing clients how to get the best out of their new investment.
Who are you?
- You’re a "fixer" who loves the technical details but also enjoys the freedom of being out on the road.
- The Hybrid Skillset: You are a multi-skilled engineer. You’re as comfortable with a multimeter as you are with a wrench.
- Field Experience: You’ve done the "road life" before. You understand the autonomy it requires and the occasional overnight stay it demands.
- The Tech Edge: Experience with CNC machinery, PLC fault-finding, or CAD/CAM software is highly desirable.
- Client-Facing: You can communicate effectively with everyone from shop-floor operators to Managing Directors.
Requirements
- Full UK Driving License (and comfortable driving abroad on occasion).
- Proven background in in-field mechanical and electrical repair.
- A "right first time" attitude toward engineering.
