We're recruiting on behalf of an established engineering manufacturer that designs and builds specialist equipment for customers across a range of industries.
Every machine is built to customer requirements, giving you genuine variety and the chance to see your work come to life.
This isn't a production maintenance position.
You'll be part of a close-knit engineering team, taking ownership of electrical controls, supporting machine builds and helping deliver bespoke engineering solutions from start to finish.
What you'll be doing
As a Controls & Electrical Technician, you'll play a key role throughout the project lifecycle, including:
- Designing practical electrical control solutions for bespoke machinery.
- Producing electrical schematics and technical documentation.
- Selecting electrical components including PLCs, HMIs, sensors, relays and safety devices.
- Configuring and programming PLC and HMI systems.
- Supporting the electrical assembly and wiring of machinery.
- Testing, fault finding and commissioning completed equipment.
- Supporting machine installation and customer acceptance where required.
- Working closely with production and engineering teams to deliver high-quality projects.
- Contributing to the ongoing development and improvement of existing products.
What we're looking for
You'll ideally have experience with
- Industrial electrical control systems.
- PLC and HMI programming.
- Electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Machine wiring or control panel assembly.
- Electrical testing, fault finding and commissioning.
- Manufacturing, machinery or automation environments.
Experience with Auto CAD Electrical, EPLAN or similar electrical design software would be advantageous.
