Recruitment Consultant £28,000 - £35,000 basic + uncapped commission Remote | Design & Project Engineering There’s a big difference between being given freedom and being left to get on with it. This role comes with the first one. Elev8 is a specialist recruitment business working exclusively across Design and Project Engineering in the UK. We're looking for someone to take ownership of a recruitment desk with existing clients and relationships already in place. So you won't spend your first six months staring at an empty CRM wondering where to start. But you won't be handed a finished desk either. You'll be expected to develop those relationships, win new business, build a strong candidate network and turn the opportunity in front of you into a consistently performing desk. How we work We're a small business and the culture is adult. Nobody is going to spend their day checking how many calls you've made or asking why you were away from your laptop for 15 minutes. Equally, this isn't somewhere to hide. There are targets. We expect people to bill. Business development matters. Candidate relationships matter. And you'll need the motivation to get on with things without somebody constantly pushing you. Do the job properly and you'll have plenty of freedom over how you do it. Who we're looking for Recruitment experience would be ideal, particularly within engineering or another technical market. But we're not fixed on it. If you've built a successful career in sales, business development or another commercial environment and can demonstrate that you know how to build relationships, create opportunities and take responsibility for your own results, we'd be interested in talking. Character matters here. You need to be comfortable picking up the phone, dealing with setbacks and working things out for yourself. What you'll get The basic salary is £28,000 to £35,000, depending on what you're bringing with you. On top of that: * Uncapped progressive commission up to 20% * Existing clients and relationships to develop * Fully remote working * 33 days' holiday * Company pension * Laptop and phone * Modern recruitment technology and AI tools * Incentives * Genuine autonomy over your desk Typical hours are 8:30am to 5:00pm, Monday to Friday. Recruitment doesn't always fit neatly between those hours, though. Occasionally a candidate or client will need a conversation outside of them, so some flexibility works both ways. Where it can go This is probably the most interesting part. Elev8 is still a small business. There aren't five layers of management above you or a promotion structure that depends on somebody else leaving. If you join, build a successful desk and prove you're capable of more, there's a genuine opportunity to build a team around you and have a say in what that becomes. That has to be earned first.
