Electrical Assembly Technician Location: Near Bungay, Suffolk Salary: Up to £36,000 + overtime at time and a half Fancy building something you can actually stand back and be proud of? Not another job wiring the same thing on repeat. Not another role where you spend all day doing one small part of a build and never see what happens next. This is bespoke automation. You’ll be working on machinery built for specific customer applications, getting involved in the electrical build from wiring and assembly through to testing and fault finding. You build it. You wire it. You test it. You help bring it to life. The Role You’ll join an established engineering business designing and building bespoke automated machinery. Working from electrical schematics and drawings, you’ll install and wire electrical components and equipment as the machines come together. There’s variety in the work. One project won’t necessarily look like the next, and you’ll get to see far more of the finished machine than you would in a repetitive production environment. You’ll also work with pneumatic components and pipework, carry out pre-commissioning checks and testing, and support installations at customer sites in the UK and overseas when required. What You’ll Be Doing * Wiring and installing electrical components from schematics * Electrical assembly and machine wiring * Installing pneumatic components, equipment and pipework * Preparing cable and pipe routes, brackets and supports * Carrying out checks and testing on completed systems * Fault finding, repairs and corrections where required * Supporting machinery installations at customer sites when required What They’re Looking For You don’t need to arrive knowing everything about bespoke automation. They’re interested in people with a solid practical electrical foundation who can develop further within the role. Experience within electrical fitting, assembly, panel wiring, machine wiring or a similar hands-on electrical environment would be relevant. Ideally, you’ll be comfortable reading electrical schematics and using electrical and hand tools. Experience with pneumatics would be useful, but if the rest of your background fits, it’s still worth a conversation. A relevant electrical or engineering qualification, apprenticeship or vocational training would also be beneficial. If you enjoy hands-on electrical work and want to get involved in building complete bespoke machinery rather than doing the same repetitive job every day, apply and I’ll be in touch
