WHO ARE WE?

The NSG Group is a global leader in glass manufacturing in three business areas: Architectural, Automotive and Creative Technology. Our mission is to change our surroundings and improve our world. We work towards our Vision which is based on the strong belief in our long‑held values: sincere and ethical culture, commitment to safety and technology and respect for people.

THE ROLE

The role is within the Chemical Analysis team, part of the Engineering and Analysis Group within the global NSG R&D function. The team delivers key inorganic analysis of glass‑making raw materials and other associated products to NSG manufacturing operations and licensees worldwide. In addition, support is also provided to the Groups R&D project portfolio in the development of new products and processes. This opportunity would suit individuals with a background in inorganic chemistry and a desire to develop their analytical expertise over time. Knowledge of X‑ray Fluorescence Spectroscopy would also be an advantage, but full training will be provided.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Operation of complex analytical equipment (e.g. WD‑XRF, ED‑XRF) to support analysis and quality control of glass and related materials.
  • Processing and reporting of analytical data using a Laboratory Information Management System.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, environmental and quality procedures in accordance with ISO 9001 / ISO 14001.
  • Co‑ordinate multiple customer requests and present complex technical insights to internal stakeholders.
  • Contribute to multidisciplinary project teams and troubleshooting activities.
  • Development of new analytical capabilities aligned with broader group initiatives in decarbonisation and digitalisation.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

  • Recent graduate with a science degree (ideally chemistry).
  • Innovative and self‑motivated.
  • Able to work as part of a small team with a desire to build technical knowledge.
  • Good analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Influential skills, able to communicate ideas clearly.
  • An interest in understanding internal and external customer circumstances, problems, expectations, and needs.
  • A full UK driving licence and car ownership would be an advantage due to limited public transport to the site.

Benefits:

  • 25 days holiday plus declared public holidays.
  • Staff Bonus Scheme up to 10% of basic salary, not guaranteed.
  • Group Personal Pension Plan a defined contribution scheme with up to 8% employer contribution.
  • Cycle to Work Scheme.
  • Continual professional development.
  • On site fitness activities and events.
  • On site car parking and electric car charging ports.
  • On site restaurant.

We give everyone an equal opportunity to contribute to their full potential and harness the richness of ideas. If you believe you can take on the challenge, we very much want to hear from you.

Closing date 28th November 2025.
